Today¬†I met¬†clients in Mechanicsville, Va. ¬†who will be putting their home on the market next week. ¬†They wanted to know if the home would sell fast, not because they’re in a hurry to move, but because they don’t want to ‘live like this’ for very long. ¬† While they may not have seen it themselves, they already lived in a very neat and tidy world. ¬†The impression that buyers won’t accept anything less than perfection is thankfully not always the case. ¬† So today – thinking of what could I put in my client’s path that would make this process least stressful AND fun for them every time they are shoo’d away for showing requests – I offered my¬†showing survival kit. ¬† Google that once, and you’ll find that not many real estate agents have put one together, since the only things that appear are heat blankets and flashlights! ¬† ¬†I give my sellers a large storage¬†bin with a list of showing tips taped to the top. ¬† They can quickly go around the house¬†and stash things that need to be easily found immediately upon returning home, instead of into the depths of the cabinets. ¬† A satchel in the bin also contains sani-wipes, glass cleaning wipes, a duster and a little scented cleaner to toss into the toilet water. ¬† A 15 min cruise around the home systematically each morning and evening, as well as this showing survival kit, takes the stress out of making sure those glossy photos aren’t a buyer’s fantasy, but a true reality when it comes to choosing one of Reflections Homes – Meredith Hayes‘¬†listings!
